Thermo-Floor Specified for JD Wetherspoon ‘Seen to be Green’ Project
Friday 24 July, 2009
Thermo-Floor designed and installed underfloor heating for the national pub giant JD Wetherspoon in their flagship green pub, The Kettleby Cross in Leicestershire.
Neil Evans, General Manager of Thermo-Floor explains: “We were selected by DP Consulting, the mechanical consultants responsible for whole the project. JD Wetherspoons were looking for sustainable energy solutions throughout the whole building with the aim of using 50% less energy than a similar sized Wetherspoons pub. The aim was not only to generate energy, from the newly installed wind turbine, but also to save it, by installing modern methods of construction such as underfloor heating, solar panels and sun pipes.
“Allowing for savings of up to 25% on heating costs compared with traditional central heating systems, underfloor heating and cooling solutions are becoming increasingly popular. The fact that Thermo-Floor was chosen as part of the ‘Seen to be Green’ project shows we are top of mind for cost saving and energy efficiency.”
