Thermo-Floor has partnered with Housing 21 – a leading provider of retirement housing, care and support services for older people – on the development of two new Extra Care Facilities in Walsall.

“The main contractor, responsible for the £165m re-provision project, brought us on board for our expertise and next generation products,” explains Neil Evans, General Manager of Thermo-Floor. “We were asked to design and install over 4000m² of underfloor heating at both the Northgate and Mossley Extra Care Facility.

“Specifying underfloor heating for a project of this type makes sense.  It is the most energy and cost efficient way of creating a comfortable inner climate – an important consideration in an Extra Care Facility.  Also, no radiators means considerably fewer dust traps which is a huge benefit for people vulnerable to allergies or bronchitis.
