Thermo-Floor install at Luton Sixth Form College

Thermo-Floor has recently completed a 4000m² installation providing a heating or cooling system at Luton Sixth Form College for Vinci Construction Ltd, the main contractors on the project.

Neil Evans, General Manager of Thermo-Floor, explains: “As well as providing state of the art education and sports facilities, the key aims for the £56 million new build project were to use energy efficient systems and sustainable materials. This will ensure future funding in the next 70 years can be spent on education and services to students, and not on maintaining and heating old and inefficient buildings.

“Aside from energy efficiency gains, underfloor heating and cooling systems provide a healthier environment because of a more even and regulated temperature. For a college or school this is paramount as the working environment has a massive impact on the effective learning time.

“Traditional central heating systems are simply not as effective as the next generation underfloor heating and cooling systems in this type of environment.”
