Typical Floor Cross Sections

There are many different types of floor build up to accommodate underfloor heating. The main are listed below with a brief explanation. Thermo-Floor can design an underfloor system to suit almost any floor build up.

Within Screed

After the manifold is mounted and leveled correctly an expansion strip is attached to all suitable walls. Insulation is then laid and iso-clips positioned on the insulation to suit the system design. The tube is then laid, clipped securely and the pipes are then connected to the manifold. Photographs are taken of the complete tube layout before the screed is laid over the pipes.

Between Joists

After the manifold is mounted and leveled correctly insulation is cut and laid to fit between the joists. Iso-clips are positioned on the insulation to suit the system design. The joists are then notched where required, keeping dimensions to a minimum. The tube is then laid, clipped securely and then connected to the manifold. Photographs are taken of the complete tube layout before the screed is laid encasing the pipes.

Between Battens

After the manifold is mounted and leveled correctly insulation is cut and laid to fit between the battens. Iso-clips are positioned on the insulation to suit the system design. The tube is then laid, clipped securely and then connected to the manifold. Photographs are taken of the complete tube layout before the screed is laid over the pipes.

Mesh On Slab

After the manifold is mounted and leveled correctly an expansion strip is attached to all suitable walls. The tubes are then laid, to a prescribed design, fixed to pre-laid metal mesh sheets with fixing ties. The tube ends are then connected to the manifold. Photographs are taken of the complete tube layout before the screed is laid over the pipes.
